LGBTQ Project with WIgan Youth Zone
Back in April of 2016 i started a project on a Sunday night with my Animation club at Wigan Youth zone!
All we had was a topic, the rest was up to them.
So was started by doing spider grams, talking about different types of people, sexuality and how people may identify.
From that we our original idea was to create a book/short film about someone within the community going into the youth zone for the first time. Showing how wonderfully accepting the place and the people inside are.

Plan B! Things didnt go as planned...
The great thing about working with teenagers is that everyone is very vocal about how they feel, because of this I had to jump in a change a few things. So now, instead of there only being one character the book will be made up of a number of character done within a character sheet and then a handful will be animated within teams.

After months of hard work we finally produced a beautiful book together which can be seen below.

The finial animation, honestly i'm so proud of what has been produced here. A lot of these young people only get 3hr's a week with me animating. Some have only worked with me though out this project and didn't even understand how animation worked.
The film itself was featured on the main stage at Wigan pride and applauded by senior management at the youth zone as well as a few of the big heads of wigan.
