From March 2017 my only focus has been on single-handedly animating my film to the highest quality possible. So I have decided that instead of doing multiple blog post I'm just going to put all the single shot together within one post and explain them as they are completed.
Door in the book
Opening a door is requires some pretty basic animation skills, I achieved this by using 8 frames drawn and animated within Photoshop cc. The only problem I had was whether of not to have the door opening out or in. To the Left are example of both, In the end i decided to go with the door opening inwards as I believe it looks a lot smoother within the transition to the next shot.
"The long Corridor"
This scene was animated using rota-scope within Photoshop CC. The corridor footage was shot within a Youth Zone with makes it feel like a more education environment. It was then coloured using Photoshop CC.
In the finial edit only the first 5 seconds of this shot was used, which was a shame but showed how prone I was to over animate at the start of this process.
Restless night + Calendar
Restless nights was one of the longest one of the more time enduring shot throughout the whole short film.
I have always favoured the use of traditional animation within my work as it's a skill that will never become outdated, unlike specialising within pacific softwares. Restless night was animated and drawn frame for frame within Photoshop CC and took hours of planning/prep, but it is by far my favourite bit of animation i have produced within the whole film.

Calendar was created using the finial still frame from "restless night" and then taken into after effects where I then animated this flip calendar.

All of the jake, all of the time.
All the shots that feature Jake are all animated in similar way as they are all done using traditional animation, so to save you reading the same thing over and over again I'll just write about then all within the same area. As explained earlier I have always favoured the use of traditional animation within my work as it's a skill that will never become outdated, unlike specialising within pacific softwares. All the shots seen below are animated and drawn frame for frame within Photoshop CC and took hours of planning/prep.
You may notice that in some of the shots Jake looks slightly different. This is a massive problem thatI had to try and over come, because I choose to animate this way it's difficult to be able to keep the drawing style consistent. It was definitely a huge learning curve, but once all the shot were put together I don't believe it was as noticeable.
Ambulance
This ambulance was animated using rota scope, and then coloured in photoshop. Unlike the rest of the film this scene has elements of colour, the ambulance itself it coloured yellow just so emphasise what it is.
Drawing himself
This scene was drawn and animated within photoshop.
Making hearts
I've already spoke about this in a previous post, click here

Social media
This scene was drawn and animated within photoshop.
This was a really fun and easy scene to animate. I then took it into after effects and added a zoom into the the second shot shown.
This scene was put drawn and put together using photoshop and then animated within after effects.

Bully
I've already written briefly about the development of the bully which can be found by clicking here.
The bully was drawn and set up in Photoshop and then animated and lip synced using After effects.
Laptop/Google search
This was a really interesting scene to create first I animated the scene within Photoshop and then exported it out. THEN I googled the question whilst doing a screen record using quick time. Once both scenes where done I edited them together using Finial cut pro X.
